ANDREW BYRNE is a composer and arts programmer based in Naarm (Melbourne) whose creative work betrays a fascination with systems and process-based procedures. He also currently serves as a musical co-director of Astra.

INSTRUMENTAL GEOMETRIES - A program of music by Andrew paired with canons by JS Bach (arranged by Andrew). Ensemble of recorder, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion. (Premiere July 2025, North Melbourne).
ANTS: six algorithmic melodies for dancers and percussion, with choreography by Alice Dixon (premiere June 2024, Carlton).

GAY GUERRILLA - Astra project featuring music by Julius Eastman. Pieces for four pianos, choirs and solo voice, arranged and directed by Andrew (August 2024).
